CSAF Continued distributing 30,056 Panda Packs of study materials to Cambodian students in 6 provinces
[Takeo] In the morning of 12 June 2023 at Bonteay Trav Primary School in Kondoeng Commune, Bati District, A Handing over and Receiving Ceremony was held to hand over 30,056 panda packs from the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) to CSAF for distribution to students studying in 112 Schools in Phnom Penh, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Battambang, Siem Reap and Kampong Thom Provinces. Mr. Wang Haoyu, a representative of CFRD, addressing the event, which was attended by many happy students that CFRD was established in 1989 and it started collaborated with CSAF in 2018 in order to provide study materials to students throughout Cambodia. These study materials include pens, pencils, markers, erasers, pens, rulers, and many more. Over the past five years, more than 180,000 packages of study materials donated by CFRD have been distributed to students across Cambodia through CSAF.H.E. Kemrath Viseth, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of CSAF Board, expressed his admiration and appreciation for the invaluable assistance of CFRD, who is an important partner in providing educational materials to students to contribute to promote human resource development of the Royal Government of Cambodia starting from kindergarten levels, under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister and President of the Cambodian People\'s Party. His Excellency continued to encourage Chinese civil societies, CFRD in particular to increase cooperation with the CSAF to jointly implement projects that provide benefits to Cambodian society development.His Excellency considered the donations of 3,0056 packs today as other 3 additional testimonies: 1- Participation in promoting the quantity and quality of education for Cambodian students 2- Participation in strengthening and expanding the traditional relations between our two countries and between Cambodian-Chinese people and 3- Participation in celebrating the 65th anniversary of Cambodia-China Diplomatic Relations. At the same time, His Excellency also encouraged all parents of these students who have the right to vote, to go and cast votes and build solidarity to maintain peace and development in Cambodia.
First Boeung O’Svay Management Committee Meeting
[Preah Vihear] On 2 June 2023, H.E. Khou Eanghourt, Deputy director-general of the National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV), a CBT Project Manager based in Preah Vihear Province, H.E. Hem Sinath, Deputy director-general of NAPV and CBT Project Coordinator based in Preah Vihear Province presided over in the first CBT management committee meeting with participation of 4 CBT project staffs, 11 (F: 5) members of CBT management committee and a village chief held in NAPV Meeting Hall.This meeting aimed to 1). to introduce CBT project implementers and CBT management committee members, 2). to review draft bylaws and regulations of Boeung O Svay Tourist Community and 3). To define roles and responsibilities of the committee members.It is worth noting that this meeting was held after achieving the official results of CBT of Boeung O’Svay management committee members selection with the meaningful participations of all community members conducted on 3 May 2023. Boeung O\'Svay Tourist Community was initiated by CBT Covid-19 Recovery Project to accelerate the rehabilitation of tourism after the Covid-19 Crisis in rural communities located in the Preah Vihear Temple Resort.
Chinese Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) Delegation Visits Tanon Village and Ang Komnob Elementary School
(Takeo): On 23 February 2023, the Civil Society Alliance Forum (CSO) chaired by HE Kem Rath Viseth, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the CSAF Council, 3 Deputy Secretaries General, including CSAF officials. Coordinated the visit of the delegation of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) led by HE Xu Jianguo and 5 accompanying officials to review the progress of the \"Cambodia-China Friendship Project to Reduce Poverty in Tanon Village\" »Achievements under the auspices of the CFPD.During the visit, the CFPD delegation inspected the water supply system, water supply pond for some villagers, roads in Tanon village and solar system for street lighting at night. The CFPD delegation then proceeded to inspect the school building of Angkambon Primary School in Svay Khom Village, which received construction funding from the CFPD. After inspecting the campus and students\' campus, the CFPD and CSAF delegations met in the library of Angkambon Primary School. In this meeting, HE Kem Rath Viseth, Chairman of the Council of the Royal Government of Cambodia, thanked the CFPD for funding the development project in Tanon village, the construction of school buildings and other assistance that has been implemented. His Excellency the Chairman of the CSAF Council also requested the CFPD delegation to continue to fund some projects that have not yet been implemented, such as livelihood improvement projects (growing vegetables, raising livestock, raising fish …), composting, which is an important project. Important in line with the actual situation that Cambodia is in the process of economic recovery after the Kovid 19 crisis.The CFPD delegation was pleased to see firsthand the remarkable progress of the project, comparing the first visit to the village, the difficult road, muddy and unsightly roads, but now Tanon village Renovated with beautiful concrete roads, night lights and clean water system for the people. Discussion meeting with the heads of civil society networks in the capitals and provinces
In the afternoon of May 12, 2023, CSAF facilitated a meeting with the heads of civil society networks in the capitals and provinces under the chairmanship of HE Kem Rath Viseth, Deputy Director of the Office of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Secretary of State, Office of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the CSAF Board, which takes place at the Council of Ministers.During the meeting, HE President expressed his happiness and gratitude to the civil society organizations as the chairmen of the civil society networks in the capital-provinces who took the time to participate and share experiences, challenges and solutions that the chairmen of both networks. All helped during the coordination of their network at the grassroots level. After the meeting, HE President hoped that all the chairmen of the Civil Society Network will better understand their roles and responsibilities, especially they will be the key players in facilitating, increasing closeness and good work with Associations and communities that are members of the CSAF.It should also be noted that the consolidation of CSO chairmen in the capitals and provinces is a new mechanism of the CSAF to strengthen the capacity and better cooperation between the chairmen of the provincial and local civil society organizations to respond more quickly.
